OUR HISTORY

Company Established in 2019

The Gingerich family name was traced back from Western Oregon to the heart of Europe, in towns near the border of Germany and Switzerland. “Bauherren” when translated from German to English, means “builders”.

Gingerich Bauherren, LLC is a family owned and operated construction company based in Tillamook, Oregon. The company was formed and became an LLC in 2019 by Joshua Gingerich. When the company was formed, Joshua was well-rounded in carpentry over twenty six years of Oregon Coast building experience gained from framing beach houses in Manzanita, Oregon and learning the unique and painstakingly complex finish work tasks of custom homes in Neskowin, Oregon.

Joshua was raised in a military family before settling in Tillamook in 1988. In his early years, he would occasionally pass the time on a rigging crew for a local logging company by setting chokers and placing guy lines for whichever yarder side he happened to be working on at the time. He would regularly spend most if not all of his earnings learning to fly a Cessna 172 out of Tillamook Airport or surfing the swells between Cape Meares and Cape Kiwanda. He inevitably found his vocation calling and began building his career in 1994 while working for a small contractor on South Prairie Road.

While siding a house on Sunset Drive, in the summer of 2003, Joshua was recruited by the Nestucca Fire Chief to become the volunteer structural fire lieutenant at Station 82 in Pacific City before moving to Oceanside in 2006. During the economic recession in 2009, Joshua returned to college to acquire a fire science degree and soon became a seasonal Type II wildland firefighter and eventually a heavy equipment wildland fire contractor. At the end of every fire season, Joshua quickly returned to his building projects and honed his skills on the construction site before donning his raingear through the winter. His background in building construction methods, structural fire protection and adherence to Oregon building and fire codes provided him the skills necessary to outshine others in the field.
